Current Air Compressor Station Status
The facility operates one central air compressor station equipped with nine air compressors, with a total installed capacity of 9,340 kW. A centralized compressed air piping network supplies all air-consuming production units throughout the plant.
Problem Assessment
A comprehensive system assessment identified the following key issues:
- Poor ventilation in the compressor station, resulting in excessive negative pressure.
- Low operating efficiency of the air compressor group.
- An inefficient dew point control strategy for the air dryers.
- Insufficient compressed air storage capacity.
- Excessive pressure fluctuations within the compressed air system.
- Excessive air supply pressure at certain end-use locations, exceeding actual demand.
Optimization Results
To address these issues, Leadcom designed and implemented nine optimization measures tailored to the customer’s compressed air system.
The project has already achieved an energy-saving rate of 24.5%. With the implementation of the remaining optimization initiatives, an additional approximately 10% reduction in energy consumption is expected, bringing the overall energy-saving rate to around 35%.
