“Energy for Lithium” — Leadcom Empowers BYD Lithium Battery Industry

Energy-Saving Retrofit for Lithium Battery Manufacturing Industry
In June 2021, the Leadcom team received a request for the retrofit of the customer’s compressed air station. The client aimed to upgrade the original decentralized pipeline system into a centralized air supply system, while achieving an energy efficiency improvement of over 30% after the retrofit.
After receiving the project requirements, Leadcom conducted on-site measurements and a comprehensive survey, and then developed a customized compressed air system solution for the customer.
Customer-Centric Approach: Energy-Efficient Solutions Supporting Scientific Carbon Reduction
In lithium battery manufacturing plants, air compressors are widely used in various production processes, including casting ejection, pneumatic forming, solution mixing, chip conveying, air blowing and cleaning, driving packaging presses, lifting machines and elevators, pneumatic tools, sandblasting, painting and coating, among others.
Based on the customer’s actual production demand at the time, Leadcom’s technical team determined through system monitoring that an air demand of 11 m³/min was sufficient to meet peak production requirements.
To support the customer’s carbon reduction goals, Leadcom recommended a customized two-stage compression permanent magnet variable speed air compressor system. Compared with the previous fixed-speed compressor units, the new solution achieved nearly 40% energy savings. In addition, maintenance costs were significantly reduced, and the equipment inspection and management process was simplified.

Further Expansion in 2023
In November 2023, the lithium battery manufacturer underwent another production upgrade. Once again, they chose Leadcom as their trusted partner.
The new system includes:
- 7 sets of C75T heavy-duty oil-cooled permanent magnet air compressors
- 3 sets of G2-132PM series air compressors
These systems continue to support the customer’s lithium battery production with improved efficiency and stability.
